Speech Recognition API

Written by Julian Sykes

A year ago (or so) we were involved in a project with Yello Brick and Welsh National Opera. The piece was a desktop digital experience which drew you into a future where the Tudor's still ruled Britain. The piece used a number of bits of technology from HTML5 video through to twillio. More recently we have been looking at ways that we may be able to make this type of experience more seamless. There have been some great project examples of this coming out recently one being the Orange example.

What interested us was the speech recognition within the experience and how we may be able to use this in a future project. In particular looking at how words could activate certain experiences for people. We should be looking at this (and blogging about it) more over the next few months. For now though if you have Chrome 25 or later why not try the speech recognition experience.
