When we discuss branding going beyond a mark the development of Truly Scrummy was that. We were initially approached to work with the manufacturer to see how they may develop as their brand as a company. Being a food manufacturer we quickly understood that the goal should be to try and develop an own brand baby food which could be sold in UK supermarkets. Having existing experience providing food to the NHS meant they were perfectly placed to create great tasting, healthy and nutritious baby food. This coupled with the ability to pack food into pouches meant they became the second baby food brand in the UK to launch in pouches. Truly Scrummy was immediately stocked by Sainsbury’s in over 200 stores and continues to gain listings in a number of other chains in the UK and Europe.
This was only half the story as with this success we worked with them to attract new business from existing baby food brands. We created compelling pitches for the company to show potential clients how their brands could look in these new baby food pouches. This attracted a number of household names such as Boots, Organix, Sainsbury’s and Tesco with many of them then placing orders to create baby food for them. The acceptance and recognition of how important design thinking is within the project was key to the success of the project.
